Noah's Ark Script

The stage opens with two people fighting.
Narrator 1: It was a sad time for God. The world had become terribly corrupt and was full of violence. There was evil and hatred everywhere on earth. But in such a world there lived a single good soul, Noah. He was righteous, without fault, and god-loving. He had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. They followed their father's footsteps and were virtuous.
Narrator 2: God wanted to teach the corrupt people a lesson. He approached Noah.
God: I am going to destroy Earth because its people have become evil. I am going to bring floodwaters to wipe out all life on it. But Noah, you and your family, still follow the path of Truth and Virtue. Hence, I do not want to harm you. I want you to make an ark of cypress wood to save yourself & your family.
Noah: Yes, my Lord. But how should I go about it?
God: I will give you instructions to build a strong boat with rooms and decks. When the deluge comes, take your entire family on it. You must also bring into the ark,  two males and two females of all living creatures - insects, birds, and all species of animals that now live on earth. You will also carry on the ark, every kind of food that these creatures eat. Seven days from now, I will send rain on earth for forty days and forty nights. All life on Earth will drown in this flood, except those in your ark. You will feed them all and keep them well and alive during this period.
Noah: I will do say you say, my Lord. Your word is my command.
Narrator 1: Noah built a huge ark as commanded by the Lord. And then the rains began to pour.
Noah: Come on, my sons. Help me get these animals on the boat.
Narrator 2: When all the creatures safely got into the ark, God shut its doors.
Narrator 1: The rains lashed out for 40 days and 40 nights. The Earth was flooded. All forms of life on Earth drowned in this deluge. But Noah's ark bounced happily in the rising waters. Finally the rain stopped.
God to the wind: Mighty wind. Go down to earth, and sweep away all the water and leave it dry. For, Noah and those on his ark shall live and flourish.
Wind: I will do as you bid, my Lord. I will sweep the earth dry with all my force and bring Noah's Ark to rest on Mount Ararat.
Narrator 1: As Noah saw water slowly receding, he called the Raven.
Noah: Dear Raven, why don't you fly out and see if the water on earth has dried up?
Raven: I certainly will.
Narrator 2: The Raven kept flying back and forth from the Ark everyday to see if the land had been dried of water.
Raven: (to Noah): I have been flying back and forth everyday to see if the land is dry of water. Alas, I see no signs of it!
Narrator 2: A few days later, Noah called the dove.
Noah: (to the dove): Why don't you go and see if all land has dried?
Dove: You are our savior. I will do as you say. Let me see if the land is dried of the water.
Narrator 1: The Dove followed Noah's order. Finally, one day the land seemed to have become fairly dry. The Dove gave Noah the happy news.
Dove: Much of the water has gone. See here, I've brought you some fresh olive leaves! But I still have not found a place to perch myself.
Noah: Okay then. We will wait for a few more days before you again go to check.
Narrator 2: A few days later when Noah sent the dove, it did not return to him. It had found a perch for itself. The land had completely dried.
God: Come out of the ark, Noah, with your family and all the other creatures on board. All these creatures will start life afresh. They will multiply in numbers and be useful on earth.
Noah: Yes, my kind Lord. I shall set all these creatures free so that they would begin a new life.
Noah (to his family): Lend me your hands, my sons. We have to thank the Lord for saving us from this deluge. We will build a lovely altar for Him and worship Him.
God: You please me Noah, with your virtuous living. May your sons flourish and their families grow. They will carry on your lineage.
Noah: I am most grateful to you my Lord for showering you mercy & blessings on us. But I wish to make a humble request to you, my ever-merciful Lord.
God: Go ahead my son. What is it you ask of me?
Noah: I wish that you would not ever curse the earth because of erring human beings.
God: You are noble indeed, Noah. I am happy with your thinking. I grant you your wish. Yes, it is true that human beings are capable of thinking evil right from childhood. But I promise you that I will never again destroy all living creatures as I have presently done.
Noah: Thank you, thank you, my Lord.
God: You must all work for the good of mankind. But don't forget, that every human being on earth, will be accountable to me for his deeds. So they should take care from going astray, and should follow an honest and good path.
Narrator 1: Life on Earth, thus began all over again.
